jutoob is a lightweight, open-source Android application that functions as a dedicated YouTube web client built on Mozilla’s GeckoView.

The app loads YouTube directly from the official website (youtube.com) using a standards-compliant browser engine, without modifying or proxying video streams, APIs, or backend services. jutoob does not scrape content, does not host media, and does not interact with YouTube in any way that differs from a normal mobile browser.

The goal of jutoob is to provide a clean, minimal, and focused YouTube viewing experience. By removing unnecessary UI elements and third-party distractions commonly present in modern apps, jutoob allows users to watch videos in a simpler and more predictable environment.

jutoob does not include proprietary Google SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking libraries. The application is fully open source, auditable, and transparent by design.
